How We Feel About Adoption

Early in our marriage we were excited to have children join our family. After several years and many doctor appointments, we both felt the best way to start our family was through adoption.

We are so grateful for that decision and for the miracle adoption is! We have been living our dream of being parents because of the love and selflessness of Eli's birthmother. Each day we pray and express our gratitude for her and her sacrifice. We know we have been blessed and Eli is a miracle in our lives.

We are excited to continue to grow our family through the miracle of adoption. We look forward to loving and caring for another precious child and Eli is looking forward to having a sibling.
There will never be a time when your child will not know they were adopted. Your name will always be spoken with honor and celebrated forever in our home. Your child will know who you are and the sacrifice you made. We will be happy to shower you with pictures and updates in forms of blogs, letters, or photographs. We would also enjoy casual contact throughout the years such as meeting together for dinner on occasion.

If you prefer a closed adoption, we will honor those wishes. We would still let your child know he/she was adopted and how much love you have for them in making such a sacrifice. We will only disclose as much information about you as you choose.

How We Met

Our friendship started over a decade ago. We met each other in a class in 9th grade. We had mutual friends and ran into each other at different parties and get-togethers. One of our favorite memories is at a party where Michelle was teasing Aaron by pretending to pour a little bit of soda on his head. Well, Aaron joined in the fun and drenched Michelle with soda. This started a mini-war of soda and we both ended up laughing-and very sticky.
Our first date was on December 17, 1998. Michelle (who only asked out 2 guys in her whole life) asked Aaron to see Christmas lights. We became such good friends our senior year of high school. We both felt like we could tell each other anything and felt completely comfortable with each other. After high school Michelle went to BYU and Aaron went to Ricks College. Aaron would visit Michelle when he was in town visiting his family. We wrote letters to each other during Aaron's mission to Tennessee.
When Aaron returned from his mission in June of 2003 we started hanging out all the time. It was never awkward for us and we just loved being together. A few months before Aaron returned from his mission Michelle had a feeling she would marry him, and later found out Aaron had a feeling a few months before he returned home that he would marry Michelle!
We started dating in November and were engaged on January 29, 2004. Aaron proposed in American Fork Canyon where we had our first kiss. He placed roses and candles in a circle and after we danced to our song "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw, Aaron proposed. Both of us have been happy with the answer to that question ever since!

After 7 years of friendship and a 3-month engagement we were sealed on April 30, 2004 in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
The day after we were married we were talking about how cute it is to see older couples still holding hands and talking sweetly to each other. We each agreed to be that couple every day of our marriage.
Our relationship has really grown the past 7 years of marriage and it continues to grow each day. We feel like during the first five years of our marriage we really built a strong foundation together and we have loved the last two years being parents. We look forward to building our family and sharing memories together.

Our Home

Our main goal as parents is to create an environment of love and safety for our children. We strive to keep the focus of our lives on our Savior through service, Family Home Evening, and daily prayer and scripture study.

We want our children to feel loved and to feel comfort and peace in our home. We feel it is most important to base our home on gospel teachings. We look forward to teaching our children the gospel by setting good examples and by putting the Savior first in our lives.

Michelle Describes Aaron

I am so lucky to have Aaron in my life! He brings me such joy every day. Aaron is a very fun-loving, relaxed person. He loves to have a good time. He is very quick-witted and has a great sense of humor. He loves to tease me and his goal everyday is to make me smile. One of Aaron's greatest strengths is his thoughtfulness. He is constantly thinking of others and how he can make them happy. He is very service-oriented and has a tender heart.Aaron is a hard worker. Currently he is working on his Masters in Business Administration. He keeps busy with his school work, but he is able to balance spending time with Eli and me. When Aaron makes up his mind to accomplish something he will do a great job. Aaron works hard to provide for us and protect us.I have loved watching Aaron be a father. He can't wait to rush home to spend time with his little buddy. Aaron and Eli can play for hours tackling and tickling each other. I never tire of their laughing and playing together.Aaron is my best friend. I love him with all my heart and I couldn't ask for a better husband. I am so grateful that we have enjoyed the last 7 years together, and I am even happier that I get to spend forever with him.

Michelle is.....awesome. There are so many qualities that I admire in her. She is my best friend. She is the most loyal person I have ever met. She places herself in other's positions and treats them how she would like to be treated. She is a very kind-hearted person who loves to serve others.Michelle loves to learn. After she graduated from BYU she continued to take classes just for fun. She is constantly reading and loves to share ideas with others. She has a passion for learning and I love that she constantly seeks out new knowledge.
Michelle is a tender, loving mother. It melts my heart to see her play with Eli. From the very beginning Michelle has taken opportunities every day to love and teach Eli new things. It is evident that Michelle loves being a mother in the way she cares for and loves Eli. We have been very blessed to have Eli come to our family and we know it would be a blessing to have any child come to our family, but I also know that any child that comes to our home will be blessed to have Michelle as a mom.I am so grateful to have Michelle as my wife. I appreciate her love and support. I admire her desire to do what's right, her passion for life, and her kindness to others. We make a good team together.

Hi, I am Eli! I am 2 years old.

I am a happy, energetic boy who loves to play ball, run around, dance, read books, sing, play with cars, and blow bubbles. I look forward to being a big brother someday and showing my brother or sister how much fun we can have together.

Parenting

We have absolutely loved our experience so far as parents! We cherish our time with Eli and we hope to cherish time with more children.
We both want to be very involved in our children's lives through church, school, extra-curricular activities, etc. We value education and are excited to support our children as they learn and grow. We feel it is important to gain as much education as possible and we will be supportive in helping our children achieve their goals. We want to allow our children to pursue their passions and talents in areas of sports, music, arts, dance, etc. In whatever activities they choose we will be actively involved and excited for them.

Our families love adoption. Eli was excitedly welcomed into our family as a grandson, nephew, and cousin. Eli has aunts, uncles, grandparents, and many cousins who love and adore him. All of our family members look forward to welcoming another child into our lives to love and enjoy!

Aaron is the fourth of five children. All of his siblings are married with children. His older sister has 5 children, his younger sister has 3 children, and both of his brothers have one daughter.

Michelle comes from a smaller family with just one sister. Her sister and her husband have four children.

We take every opportunity we have to spend time with our families and we love it. We look forward to sharing many family memories with our children and families.

What We Like to Do

We love playing together as a family. We love going to the park, reading books, going on walks, putting puzzles together, swimming, running around, building towers, playing cars, and all the simple things that bring so much joy. We love going on vacations and seeing new places. We want our children to be exposed to many cultures and experiences.We feel blessed that Michelle is able to stay home full-time. We feel it is a great benefit to a child when a mother chooses to stay at home and Michelle absolutely loves it. On any given day of the week you will find Michelle and Eli going to the zoo, the children's museum, playgroup, swimming, little gym class for Eli, or the park. Every day they have music time, art time, and reading time together.We love getting together with friends and family. Our home is always open to others. We enjoy having friends over for football games, game nights, and movie nights. Our friends adore Eli and he loves all the attention he gets.
